Description:
Shadow is the oldest city in Kalura, with many of the ancient buildings predating the wells, or even the elves themselves. Some scholars believe that shadow was built by an ancient race known as the Drevni, an ancient race believed to have ascended and become the angels seen in Kalura today. In the center of the city is a large palace believed to have once been home to the gods before they ascended and became divine. The palace greatly outshines any other structure, even the golden palace in the sun capital fails to stand up to it's splendor, though no one has ever been able to enter. It is for this reason that some believe that the gods still inhabit the palace, watching over Kalura from the confines of the tall central tower.
Throughout history, the city of Shadow has changed hands many times, changing it's name with each successful conquest. The sun elves often refer to it as "Heaven," as a reference to it's divine origins, whilst the dark elves refer to it as "Shadow," in reference to it being one of the last standing structures of the first Kaluran people. Naturally, much of the city has become a near perfect mix of both Light elf and Dark elf architechture, with elabourate golden buildings beautifully contrasting their gleaming silver counterparts. Much of the original city has fallen into ruins, however, with large toppled towers, and rotting stone temples jutting woefully from the glimmering waters of the great kalura river. Many of these ruins have deep underground passages that have become home to monster girls, such as demons, slimes, and even the occasional nest of vampires or necromancers.
